Pope County Jail Roster

The Pope County Jail Inmate Roster is a public resource that allows anyone to check if a specific person is being held in the county jail of Arkansas. On the PopeCourt.us website, you can find publicly available information about current and recently released inmates. Additionally, data is available through the official website of the Pope County Sheriff, by phone, or during a personal visit to the facility. The roster provides information on custody status, charges filed, and booking date. It is maintained by the Pope County Sheriff's Department, and the data is updated as new bookings and releases are processed.

To find information about an inmate, use one of the methods listed below.

Online Search

  1. Go to PopeCourt.us and enter the person's full legal name or booking number.
  2. Review the results — typically, the name, booking date, charges, and bail amount are displayed.
  3. If you need information about a court case, use the Search ARCourts portal to view public court records.

Find Pope Jail Booking Records Online

A booking record is created at the moment a detained person is officially registered in jail. This occurs after arrest — staff record personal information, take photographs, and fingerprints.

Each record contains:

  • A unique booking number
  • The date and time of registration
  • Charges filed
  • Arresting agency (sheriff, Russellville city police, etc.)
  • Bail amount, if set

These records are available through the sheriff's website roster. For more detailed court information — such as rulings or hearing transcripts — contact the Circuit Clerk's office at 100 W. Main, Russellville, AR 72801. Court records can also be viewed online through the Arkansas Judiciary portal.

If you need records not available in the online roster — for instance, archived bookings from previous years — submit a written request for public records directly to the Sheriff's Department. Some records may be restricted or require a copying fee.

Search the Pope Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number

The roster supports two main search methods.

Search by Last Name

Enter the last name in Latin as it might appear in official documents. A few tips:

  • Check the spelling — even one extra letter can result in an empty search.
  • If the last name is common, add the first name to narrow the results.
  • Try a shortened version of the name if the full search yields nothing (e.g., "Rob" instead of "Robert").

Search by Booking Number

The booking number is the most accurate way to find a specific record. It is assigned during registration and is unique. If you know this number from an attorney, relative, or previous search, use it.

What to Do If the Search Yields No Results

  1. Ensure you spelled the name correctly — try variations.
  2. The person may have already been released, and the record has disappeared from the current roster.
  3. The booking may not yet be completed — there is a time gap between arrest and the record appearing in the system.
  4. Call the jail directly to clarify the status.

To check if the person has been transferred to the state system, use the Arkansas Department of Corrections inmate search.

Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Pope

The Pope County roster is not updated instantly. There may be a delay of several hours to a day between the arrest and the record appearing in the online system — it depends on how busy the jail staff is and when the booking procedure is completed.

Main limitations to be aware of:

  • Publication delay. New bookings appear after full processing — photographing, fingerprinting, charging.
  • Disappearance of records after release. Once a person is released on bail, by court order, or after serving time, their record is usually removed from the current roster.
  • Not an archive. The roster only shows those currently in custody. It does not replace a full criminal record database.
  • Technical errors. Sometimes data is entered with errors in name or date — this can complicate the search.

If you need information about past bookings or a complete criminal history, contact the Sheriff's Department with a written request. For court records — contact the Pope County Circuit Clerk or through the online portal Case Search Arkansas Judiciary. The Arkansas Sex Offender Registry is available separately on the Arkansas Sex Offender Notification System website.
